As we approach the end of another month, it is time for another update on the new DoT site.
Progress continues to move along with the start of listing development. Every listing on the new site is being redesigned to streamline the amount of data displayed in addition to creating a much more useful approach to listing packages. This new interface will allow users to see the contents of a package listing without having to open a new window as is required by the current site. Along with that, we also have additional flexibility built-in so that listings will be able to have custom descriptions when they're posted. This will allow us to post whether entities are a once-in-a-lifetime deal through us or whether we plan to have more available in the coming days/weeks/months. The new changes to listings are wonderful and I can't wait to share a visual preview of them with you as soon as I'm able.
On the current site, you will notice that we only support individual users and factions. With this new site, we are looking forward to support non-faction groups (NFGs). While users can only be part of one faction, they will be permitted to be listed as members of multiple NFGs. This opens the possibility for a Trade Federation House to have their own account, and allows members of that House to have access to that as well as their personal NFG that they run, and maybe another NFG that they help out with. More information on how NFG accounts will work will be forth-coming. For now, suffice it to say that I'm very excited to see how the community chooses to use this feature.
My last update is that this entire write-up has been written and modified via the new site's news manager and you're viewing a screenshot of the actual news page!
To conclude, progress continues to go well and we look forward to it continuing in towards the eventual release of our new site!
